The
boxes are back!!
Any of you that saw
us at Towersey this year will know that we have reintroduced melodeons
in the majestic form of Mr Simon Care and Mr Saul Rose - box players of
the highest quality and fine gentlemen they are too. We had a fab time
at Towersey and we're looking forward to developing the whap sound with
new material and a new album.
Bringing Saul and Simon in means that we say goodbye to Tom Fairbairn
who leaves us for pastures new and we all wish him well.
We are now planning our appearances for the near future and one of our
many aims is to organise some local events here in Northumberland. We
will be posting details on the web site which is currently being revamped
and will be re-launched soon.

Youngest
fan?
On Mike Harding's
Radio 2 prog a few weeks back he played the title track from "Relentless"
for someone's 3 year old son who cannot resist dancing around to it. Is
he our youngest fan we wonder? If you know better please let us know.
Incidentally, I did hear a tale a few years ago of a very young person
who burst into tears everytime the opening bars of "HT Polka"
were played. Anyone out there have a whap-related anecdote that will amuse
and delight us? Please e-mail us with your stories and we'll publish the
best ones and send some prizes out. (We'll check in the loft and see what
merchandise we've got left

Competition
Winners
Many apologies for
not getting round to announcing the winner of the last competition. We
had some chortlesome entries for suggestions of future competetions and
have decided that 3 of them will be used for this purpose . So, the winners
are as follows
Sandy Liveaid for his suggestion of anagrams of band members names - the
best one chosen by the band. (There's something suspicious about Sandy's
name but I can't put my finger on it -Ed)
Penny Allen for "other best ways of work avoidence" Again ,
we''ll choose the best one
Tracey Rose for "how many words can you make out of "Whapweasel"
(keep it clean please)
Congratulations to all our winners. We'll be sending an email to you with
details of what you have won.
