New Recording
What a month it has been!
We’re back from recording the album and we are very pleased with the results.
We’ve still got to mix some of the tracks but the recording itself went very well.

Folk Awards
During our week in the studio we took some time out to go to the BBC Folk Awards where we received the prize for Best Dance Band.
We are all absolutely thrilled and delighted to be the first recipients of this particular accolade and a huge thanks to everyone who took the time to cast their votes in our direction.
For those of you who haven’t seen it you can have a look at the video on the BBC Folk Website and see Mike delivering the acceptance speech looking (and sounding) like a nervous butler.
However, it was a fantastic evening and we are well chuffed.
The website version of the newsletter contains photos of the band at the awards news

Gig Cancellations
As many of you will know we had to cancel the gigs at IVFDF, Clara Vale, Stroud and Exeter due to an injury problem. We are happy to report that we expect to be back on the road in May and new dates are being negotiated for all cancelled gigs. Many apologies to all concerned.
This is the first time in 10 years that we have cancelled gigs so as you can imagine after the euphoria of recording and the awards we were all very dissapointed. But, as they say, onwards and upwards and we look forward to seeing people at the gigs from May onwards.

Next Public Gig
Our next public gig will be at Cromer Festival on 6 May where we will be performing for an afternoon concert. We did Cromer as a last minute stand in last year and the weather was absolutely appalling with driving rain and galeforce winds almost ripping out the Marquee tentpegs.
However, we had such a good time we were delighted to be asked back, this time to play at the theatre on the pier. Immediately after Cromer, we head up to Holmfirth in Yorkshire to play for the Saturday Night Ceilidh (7 May). Should be fun.
