June Competition

It’s very simple this month.
To the nearest mile, how many miles will the Whapmobile travel in June 2005?
Entries in by 30th June.
Copy of “Pack of Jokers” to the winner
What's Been Happening?

After a short break the Newsletter is back with a full update of what the Whaps have been up to since we last reported in.

Well, it's arrived.
The new album, “Pack of Jokers” has been delivered safely from various corners of Europe and will be hitting the record shops from June 27th.
However, if you would like a copy before then it is available directly from us. Please go to the merchandising page of our website for details of how to obtain it.

Previous winners of our competitions will be receiving their very own copy within the next week or so.

One man and his bridge
Our new fiddle player, Tom Fairbairn, is settling in well and has just taken delivery of a brand new 5 string all white Bridge violin.
With his angelic looks, the fiddle seems just right!

Recent Gigs
Since the last newsletter we have performed at Cromer, Holmfirth and Oxford festivals and enjoyed every minute. Audience reaction has been very positive to the new line up so we hope we can carry this on.

The Right Trousers
If you saw us at any of these performances you may have noticed that we have a new look for this year.
Gone are the Hawaiian shirts and jackets.
This year’s look is primary colours. We have all had our “colours” done by a recognised expert in the field and apart from Heather, we have ignored the advice and followed the “Cluedo” guide to colours.

Appropriate nicknames please for band members along the Cluedo character lines. We’ll print the best ones in the next edition.

Adventures of the Whaps –
The next edition of these cartoon adventures will be appearing very soon on the website. Please keep checking at www.whapweasel.com/adventurepage.html

Competition results
Loads of entries for the limerick competition. Thanks to everyone who responded. They were all excellent but our favourite, after much discussion and a scuffle, is Neil Davis-Day Congratulations.

A copy of “Pack of Jokers” is on it’s way. The winning entry is :

There was a young fiddler called Tom
 An unfeasibly hairy jeune homme
 His locks did fall out
 Due to fiddling about
And now he resembles une pomme
