What's Been Happening?

New CD
Fever pitch looms ever closer as we head to Oxford to record the new CD, Pack of Jokers. There will be 11 tracks all hand written by various members of the band and put together co-operatively with a minimum amount of swearing.

We showcased the new tracks at a concert on our home turf of Haydon Bridge on 15 January and we had a fantastic night with a great audience who gave the new stuff a definite thumbs up, so here’s hoping the album receives the same.

The Sage Gateshead
The following week saw us at The Sage Gateshead where we played for a Ceilidh in a hall which has a glass fronted bit at one end so people can see in. However when you are outside looking in you cannot hear a thing so it must have been a bizarre sight to see loads of people careering round in a frenzy of activity for no apparent reason.

Very enjoyable though!

Folk Awards
This month is Folk Awards time and we are waiting with bated breath to see who will be chosen in the Best Dance Band category. Results announced on 14th February.

Oh Dear!
We reported last month about Brian’s unfortunate flood experiences. Taking a well earned rest he and his wife ,Val, took a trip to Spain for four days where it proceeded to snow continuously... for four days!

However they were reasonably well attired with knee length shorts and open toed sandals providing more than adequate frost bite protection.

Subsequently Brian is planning a late summer break to Greenland to take advantage of the weather.
