Whats Been Happening?

Crazy Canoeists
A bizarre gig at Hexham Leisure Center early in November saw us playing for around a thousand crazed Kayak and Canadian Style Canoeists. Halfway through the evening the vast crowd were treated to the sight of several of their compatriots parading along a glass fronted corridor without so much as a spray cover between them. This ghastly apparition then appeared outside on the running track where a naked 100 meters was won by a guy with little to no wind resistance. He won a prize but lost his partner to the bloke who came last!

Whap Fashion
On a freezing night in mid November our lovable Saxophonist, Stuart, who is not hardened to our harsh climate, donned no less than 2 T-Shirts, 2 Shirts, a Jumper, 3 Coats and a Hat to perform at Colwell Village Hall deep in the heart of rural Northumberland. The weather has improved since and he has removed the hat.

2005
Festival gigs for 2005 are coming in thick and fast and to date we are confirmed at Cromer, Holmfirth, Oxford, Wimbourne, Beverley, Trowbridge, Towersey and Banbury. More in the pipeline. Keep checking the website for updates.

Cartoon
The long expected launch of our new cartoon strip, The Adventures of the Whaps, has had to be put back until next month due to circumstances beyond our control.

Competition
Entries are still flying in for last month’s competition (closing date : 31/12/04 - winners announced next edition) This month’s teaser takes on a bit of a festive flavour.
Following rehearsals this week we thought we would put Stuart onto some scales and find out how much he weighs.
We thought it might be fun to weigh him again in January following the festivities to see if he has either lost or gained. Your task is to guess the difference in weight. The nearest to the correct answer will receive a copy of our new CD due out in 2005. Please email your entry to competition@whapweasel.com Closing date 31 December 2004
